Finally a new ride!!

Post by Brian Story » January 14th, 2014, 4:56 pm

Still putting things together the way I want them but: 1997 boston whaler outrage II with a Johnson 115, 30 gal SBT, 80lb riptide st with i/pilot ordered. Hope to upgrade to hummingbird SI soon. Should be able to handle some big lakes, rivers and maybe some ocean is this rig. Now just to find the time.....

Great looking boat and heard good things about Boston Whalers. Don't forget to get about 8 or 12 rodholders sticking in all directions...

Nice looking ride - those Whalers are tough - and as I understand, heavy boats.....

that trolling motor mount is interesting - sort of defeats the purpose of most of that bow nav light, huh 8-)

Enjoy the new rig! Time to slime up the decks

The trolling motor mount has been a work in progress! That mount is solid as a rock! The nav lights are more visible than it looks in the pic. Not sure what the rule is exactly on where they must be visible but may have to move them in the future. I'm all about safety and will move them or put up a portable nav lights if needed! It does need some shad shit on it!

Technically the rule is they must be visible through the full 225 degrees - (112.5 from center). Looks like the mount would block the view through part of that arc on each side.

Of course, it's better than none or the bass guys that put the all-round white light on their motor where they or their console block it (not to mention it is not 1 meter above the bow light)

Great looking ride, and I would be in salt water as much as I could with that. Good luck.

I've fished many hours out of one of those... If it doesn't have hydraulic steering already I'd look into getting it if I were you.
