2016 FYAOSBO

Post by Shawn McNew » November 27th, 2016, 1:07 am

Looks like another unofficial fish off this year since I have just gotten too busy to dedicate the time to mediate these events. It's always a fun thing to compete and talk a little smack. Plus its good motivation to get out there and fish when you might otherwise not want to. December is notoriously tough but it looks like with the late heat, things might be really good catching wise. Rules are the same with 3 classes of fish. Just post your entries as you catch them. Remember to take a measuring device out with you to record your fish!

Forgot to take a measurement pic of my first two fish today - one was 36.5" and 18 lbs and the other was 13 lbs and around 33.5".

Fortunately I got another shot late in the day...

Under 15 lb entry:

35.25" (if I could have held the tail and taken the pic) and 14.5 lbs

That's a good one! Guess the other 2 classes are wide open!

Love the fight these fish give in cold water! I tried one last pass at 2016 but could not stay hooked up after 5 bites - well except for the largemouth

Not much fishing for me in December, especially not for anything appreciable (non-Sinclair). Hoping to get out a little more. Looks like Mike Ward is our winner for the 0-15 class and Roland is the 15-30 class winner. No entries for the 30+, so that money rolls over until next year! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Nice going Mike and Roland. I got one that "coulda been a contenda" at 14.5 but MIke's skinny assed fish edged me out by a couple of inches.

I just hope one day to have able to seriously content in the 15-30 or 30+ category.... the 15-30 is getting in reach on SML in Dec..... think I'll have to travel for the 30+ however...
