Unofficial FYAOSBO 2015

Post by Mike Werner » December 2nd, 2015, 4:53 pm

If Shawn doesn't mind, let's do an unofficial FYAOSBO on this thread. Same rules except open to any official (dues paying or dues waived) members. Also, no beacon, but must have good photo with measuring device. No entry fee and to join the competition, post a picture on this thread according to the rules in the thread where we failed to get it together.

Winner in each category has their choice of either a free cat or some leftover spools of line that don't have enough line on them to spool a reel.

Against my admittedly questionable judgement I refuse to accept that either Dirk, Wier, or Powell will win this thing, so let's do it.

I second your proposal Mike!! Good luck to all...I have tons of half used line spools in 15lb test to donate for prizes.

28 LBS. 40 INCHES.

Like a dumb ass I just realized that we didn't measure any of the other Stripers we got yesterday.
Rookie move.

Since it's unofficial and since this came from Allatoona I'll unofficially enter. 29.6lbs on boga and just under 42". I didn't care too much to focus the shot because I wanted to get her back in the water....its ik if that officially disqualifies my entry.

Beauty of a fish. Your Bogas are too accurate. I would call that 30lb all day long on my Bogas. Congrats Randy and smile when you have a fish like that.

I wish I could but my daughter is performing the Nutcracker so we'll be at multiple performances this coming weekend. But may look at some options for that Mon-Wed before Christmas is the weather is right ;)

Not my "sleeve" but my fishing partner holding the fish for me while I snapped the pic :)

Time of first entry in class right ;)

I'm with Mike - if I get a 14 it will defiantly be longer than 31 on SML. Have 2.5 days to try this coming week. Winds blew us away from the Bay it looks like so I'll not get a chance in the 30+ class this year :(

Shawn - you turn 40 and your eyesight is the first thing to go? ;)

Zoom in - and you'll see a (admitted faint) 36" number by the line to the right of the fish' tail -if anyone questions I can send the 3MB original via email. Such proof and scrutiny needed for high stakes CPR events and all ;)

So, looks like the tally for the UNofficial FYAOSBO 2015 is:

0-15 lb Class:
Mike Ward - 14 lbs / 35.25"
Larry Scott - 14 lbs / 32.5"
Steve Hightower - 14 lbs / 31"
Mike Werner - 10 lbs / 30.25"

16-30 lb Class:
Randy Roy - 29.6 lbs / 42"
Steve Hightower - 29 lbs - 40"

31+ Class:
No Entries (aka David was too busy in December..... )

Hopefully we'll get more folks that will pony-up for the "real" thing next year..... shame we didn't as it was for a good cause this year....
