***OFFICIAL**** RSVP 2017 SSTG

Post by Shawn McNew » September 15th, 2017, 3:41 pm

Date of 2017 SSTG - Nov 2-5

Please copy and paste your responses to the following under this topic if you plan on attending:

1) # In party
2) Dates you plan to attend
3) Boat Y or N
3-a) If Y on boat, # of open seats
4) Camping, CampERing or Lodging (hotel/motel etc..)
5) Any other specials like food, beverage, camp chairs, etc...

Lots of space for tents and parking and boats etc. Women are sort of allowed as long as they can hang with a bunch of nasty, shit talking dudes.

David's is located near Alcoa and the Knoxville Airport (Tyson McGhee). There are several hotels on the main drag there, or you might stay closer to where the fishing action is likely to be on Watts Bar: Kingston, TN area.

Still trying hard to make it, the stars are going to have to line up though.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

I know of about a half dozen more, locals and non-locals, who aren't on the forum who will be coming. Bring a friend! Jim, I hope you make it.

) # In party: 1
2) Dates you plan to attend: Nov 4th
3) Boat Y or N: N
4) Camping, CampERing or Lodging (hotel/motel etc..): WIll stay in a local hotel
5) Any other specials like food, beverage, camp chairs, etc..: Bringing the Striper Mafia trailer so we will have 4 folding tables for food, 2-3 pop-up canopies if needed, a PA system for some tunes if desired and if someone has a streaming gadget connectable via HDMI we can get whatever games on a screen....

I have our local Striper Club annual biz meeting on Fri night, and being Prez of the Club I have to be there - so I'll either be pointing the truck west-bound about 9pm headed to TN, or get up on Sat AM and head that way - depending if there is a seat I can jump on to fish with on Saturday morning. Unfortunately I then have to be back at SML at 2pm on Sunday for a property association annual meeting so I'll be rolling out early on Sunday morning, but will definitely be there Saturday evening for the festivities and hopefully some fishing that morning.... goes without saying that I'd be happy to put gas in whatever boat & tow vehicle I might end up in and help with bait, etc....

Is there any coordination of boats fishing together/sharing seats etc. Last year it seemed some shared and some of us were left out... I am hoping to be in the vicinity of BFO at daylight on Friday. Pick up some bait. anyone?

I would like to go on Thursday and Friday , my boat is available or I can catch a ride with someone needing a fishing friend. Hit me up if you need a ride or want to give a ride, either way is fine by me. I definitely would like to fish with some of you old pro's, Shawn, David, Mike, Jim, Will, etc.

Well, it looks like my septic situation is going to set me back at least a day. So that means I'll have to extend my trip at least 2 days, right? I imagine I will have open seats on Sunday, Monday, and perhaps Tuesday if I drag it out that long. :chef:

If you need a ride on someone's boat it is your responsibility to hook up with someone or you will be "left behind." If you are not planning on bringing your boat then it's on you to ask around for an open seat. You local guys should be the ones offering rides to folks from out of town in exchange for some fuel cash, or just in the spirit of Soup camaraderie. :hellyea:

I would like to take that Monday the 6th open seat Shawn, if it's available. Also then I have Thurs or Friday seat open, however probably one day is taken, just don't know which day yet.

Me +1 will be rolling in later tonight.

I'll have a community beer cooler of miller lite in tow for everyone.

How is the boat battery charging situation for those of us camping at David's? I'll have a generator, but would love to just plug it all up to keep the noise down. Level spot for a tent?
