Know any good guides up on Clinch / Cumberland?

Post by Mickey Nightrain » July 29th, 2016, 10:42 am

I really like river fishing with shad / skips and would like to find a guide on some TN rivers who goes for big fish. Last guide trip I took trolled umbrella rigs for 3 lb. hybrids and I do not want to do that again.
Thanks for your input!

Yes!
Where are you from? How long have you been fishing for striper?

Ezell,
I started fishing for stripers this year and I'm from Woodstock, GA. I grew up hearing stories about huge fish in TN as my mom if from Lebanon, TN. I fished Gallatin Steam Plant many years ago and saw some huge fish out of there.

I've been out three times with meltonhillbill Bill fishes Melton Hill and some other nearby reservoirs.

We caught four running from 17 lb to 40 lbs and lost two more the first time out. Two fishermen. Next time, about a month later, we caught 8 running from 18 lbs to 37 lbs. Three fishermen.

The last time wasn't as successful. Only one fish in 6 hours with three fishermen. But, it is fishing, not catching. Anyhow, I am going out with him again on the 16th of August. We shall see!

regards, rich
