Needle fish in Lake Juliette?

Post by Ken Sato » September 5th, 2017, 8:08 pm

Yesterday, when out on Juliette, I noticed a bunch of what looked like saltwater needlefish about 12-16" long. They were on the surface and would chase my surface lure back to the boat. At first I thought they were juvenile Gar but they didn't have any markings other than being silver. :geyes:

I have seen them in Augusta, so they will run WAY up a river. Perhaps they got sucked into the lake through the pump. Crazy

I didn't think about the pump from the river but that makes sense. I'm not sure if the Stripers are eating them since I see them skittering on the surface as if they are being chased and sometimes, an explosion would occur.
