Quick and Awsome Net Repair

Post by Roland Zamorano » July 13th, 2015, 7:31 pm

I recently snagged another xmas tree thanks to the Crappie guys. The rip was about 12 inches long. Rather than sewing it back together, I thought I would try to use small white zip ties to close the rip. Man they work like a champ! Trim the excess tail and all you have left is a little knob and a repaired net.

Will be interesting to hear how it works over the long-haul. I've got to believe that they are going to snag / catch the net on you...

Been doing this for a while with the smallest Ty-Wrap brand ones you can get. Works pretty good, very fast, but they do snag a little. Has to be Ty Wrap brand b/c they have rounded heads. Trim with snips so there's no tag sticking out. Great post Roland!

Thanks Shawn, i repaired this two weeks ago and haven't noticed any snagging. I've used them along the lead line too.

This is good stuff. Thanks for the suggestion. Nothing quite as bad as hanging up a good cast net.
