Post Tricked Dannvo LV-8
Had a eureka moment a couple of days ago and just got around to bringing it to life. You know that pesky ring on the Dannco that keeps sliding around on the o-rings and stops putting out air? THROW IT AWAY. This installation can be placed anywhere in the line as long as you can get it there. You ideally want the Dannco to be the last thing the water goes through before it returns to the tank since downstream backpressure kills the venturi effect, but you can play around with different stuff. You have to have a sander, belt preferably and a saw, band preferably.

Take the outer part off and throw it in the trash. Remove o rings.
Whack it off at the base of the wide flange, maybe leaving 1/8" of the attachment part.
Sand the flange down until it's the same size as the inlet port.
Jam it in a 3/4 ID tube to hold it and whack the other end off roughly around the bottom part of the number "8" that's molded into it. (closest to the center of the Dannco)
Now all you have to do it jam it into your pump tube, drill a hole for your air tube and mount it in the tank.

Here's what I ended up with, sorry for the scorched up dirty tube, I didn't have any new stuff.

how did you fit the air hose onto it thru the hose? never mind, I re-read it for comprehension. cool way to make it shorter.

Much simpler, good hack for sure.

I restarted my tank about a month ago...and messed around making a homemade venturi. Slid a small pipe into a short section of garden hose and squeezed two tubes through small holes in front of it. It's ugly but works well far.
