Creek Chubs!

Post by Vaughn Traywick » January 18th, 2018, 11:43 pm

Chubs are an excellent winter bait here in AL and they're ridiculously hearty and easy to keep. I think they'd live in my septic tank. I keep an old 18gal bait tank with about a hundred on hand and they'll live for a year or more if you want. I treat water with g-juice and a handful of salt and keep a 12v bubbler going. Zero deaths, no smell in my garage with monthly water changes. Feed them pelleted fish food. Nice having backup bait on tap that WORKS in a season that is tough for me to net shad for a trip. Tote them to the lake in a 5gal bucket. Cool catching big fish on a 1/0 hook too.
