Well 2 weeks ago I had a four wheeler accident at Lake Russell. I was goofing off and was thrown to the ground breaking my femur in 2 places. One of which was completely in half and the other almost in half. They transported me to athens regional by ambulance where they did surgery the next day. I was released 3 days later. Let me tell you guys things can change in a hurry. So my summer is f'ed up just like last year. I had knee surgery last june on the other leg. Yall have fun fishing as it lloks like my recovery is going to be a long one. This has definitely changed my outlook on life and I will think twice before I do something crazy.
That sucks... I used to do some crazy things on 4 wheelers and motorcycles and was very lucky I never had any serious injuries. I hope you are not in too much pain and have a speedy recovery. Dirk
Mike it was not that hard of a hit. I hit the ground and went to roll over. My leg was totally limp. I lay there for a few minutes thinking I'll just roll my hip back in socket. It roll back in. Thats when I realized I have a serious problem. I now have a titanium rod from in my leg from hip to knee (no cast). I got 2 very small things of road rash, one of is already healed. The other can be covered with a quarter.
Little update. I just got released to go back to work monday the 9th. Hopefully i will be on the water before long. I have a 1st gen HDS7 in the box that needs to be mounted, and I will be ready. I cant wait, maybe I can contribute a little more next year.

X2 - both from the perspective of glad your back healthy and in action, as well as the sonar - get those jigs outMike Werner wrote:Good to hear you are going to get back to work. I think you'll like that new sonar and I think winter is a good time to spend the time learning to use it.
Well, it looks like my season is screwed again. I have a non-union of the bone. Which means the bone is not fully growing around the rod and growing back together fully. Im scheduled for surgery mon the 13th. They will remove all the hardware in my leg, drill/ ream out my femur, and replace with larger hardware. This has a 75% chance for success to help with bone growth. I will be back down again for around 6 months.
Thanks guys, I just got home. Its gonna be 6 weeks with only be able to do "toe touch" weight bearing. So back on the walker and crutches I go. I hate it, but I got to find a way to make the white bass run and the hybrid run. Ive got new hds7, and shimano baitrunner that needs to be broken in.
